Lusaka – The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, held a meeting this Saturday, in Lusaka, with his Zambian counterpart, Hakainde Hichilema, the latter being the host of the extraordinary summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
The meeting between the two statesmen happened before the opening of the Summit, however, there were no statements to the press in the end of it.
João Lourenço is in since last Friday in Lusaka to participate in the extraordinary summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) on the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Mozambique. He is to attend the meeting, to be held on Saturday (Marc 23), as SADC chairrman.
The gathering was convened to address the security situation in the Southern African region, with a focus on the latest developments in the east of DR Congo and in northern Mozambique (Cabo Delgado Province), among other pertinent issues.
The meeting will be chaired by the Head of State of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, in his capacity as Acting Chairman of the SADC Organ for Cooperation in the Areas of Politics, Defence and Security.
