Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, addressed on Wednesday, in Luanda, social issues with leaders of religious congregations in the country.
Council of Christian Churches in Angola, Vladimir Agostinho, the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World, Afonso Nunes, and the Church of the Kingdom of God in Angola, Alberto Segunda.
The leader of the Church of Christian Communion of Angola, Antunes Huambo, of the Kimbanguista Church in Angola, Kiangane Paul, of the United Eternal Sanctified Church of Angola, Victor Segunda, and of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Teixeira Vinte also were present at the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Bishop Antunes Huambo informed that they had asked the Head of State for more support for families who practice family farming.
The attribution of public utility status to some religious congregations and the authorization of recognition of some schools and theological training institutes were other issues put forward to President João Lourenço, by religious leaders, he explained.
During the meeting of around two hours, issues related to youth and the allocation of land for the construction of different social infrastructures were also discussed.
Bishop Antunes Huambo said that the religious took the opportunity to express their feelings of gratitude, for the fact that the Angolan Executive officially recognized some churches in the country, which previously carried out religious activities illegally, in disregard of the laws in force in the country.
The Church of Christian Communion of Angola, Christian Missionary Ministerial Church, Eternal Church of Espírito Santo, United Pentecostal Church, Josefat Church, and the Church of the Kingdom of God in Angola are among the recognized congregations.
The moment also served for those responsible to offer President João Lourenço 13 Bibles, in different national languages. AFL/VIC/DOJ
