Viana- Antonieta Cesaltina Fragoso Kulanda was elected new president of the Angolan Women's League (LIMA), with 372 votes in favour, during the 5th Congress of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA)’s females organization, the event´s organizing committee announced on Monday, in Luanda Province.
Antonieta Kulanda succeeds Helena Bonguela Abel, in an electoral process with the participation of 678 active participants.
In her first speech, she made a commitment to boost and implement the process of eradicating poverty through the empowerment of women, their role in the rehabilitation of Angolan cultural heritage and social inclusion.
The 5th LIMA Congress took place under the motto "Proximity, Empowerment and Transformative Leadership" and brought together 751 delegates from across the country and the diaspora.
Antonieta Cesaltina Fragoso Kulanda, 49 years old, is from Lubango, Huíla Province.
She has a Master's degree in educational sciences from Higher Institute of Educational Sciences of Luanda (ISCED) in Huíla and a degree in teaching Portuguese and national vernacular languages from the Jean Piaget University of Angola.
