Dhabi – At least 200 people are part of the Angolan community in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), 51% of whom are women.
The consul general of Angola in Dubai, André Morgado, said on Sunday that part of the community is dedicated to civil construction, catering, trade and the provision of services as freight forwarders.
Speaking to the press in Abu Dhabi, within the framework of the participation of the Angolan President, João Lourenço, in the Week of Sustainability, the consul underlined his commitment to the Community.
"Our relationship with the community is unconditional", he stressed, adding that in general, Angolan citizens registered in the region, by the Consulate General, are properly supervised socially.
Also among the approximately 200 Angolans registered at the consulate, he said that 50% of them are engineering students, noting that there are two or three citizens who do piloting.
Among the various services provided by the Consulate General of Angola in Dubai, the consul highlighted the issuance of passports, identity cards and the transcription of birth and marriage certificates.
Angola and the United Arab Emirates have close cooperative ties in sectors such as oil and gas, mining, trade and investment, energy, defence, transport, agriculture, fishing, banking, telecommunications and finance.
