Dundo - Two National Police officers were dismissed for desecrating a corpse and causing bodily harm to members of the self-denominated "Movimento Protectorado Lunda Tchokwe", during the armed rebellion that took place in the early hours of 30 January.
They are the chief inspector Eduardo Sachissapa Bongo Tomé and the officer Jonilto Meninho Txijica, both from the Provincial Command of the National Police in Lunda Norte, according to an Order from the General Commander of the corporation, Paulo de Almeida, to which ANGOP had access today (Sunday).
In the early hours of 30 January, the country was taken by surprise with an act of armed rebellion in the town of Cafunfo, Lunda Norte province, in the east of the country. The action was led by a group of national and foreign citizens who attacked a police station.
In the confrontation with the National Police, six people belonging to the self-denominated "Movimento Protectorado Lunda Tchokwe" died and nine others were injured. Nineteen people were arrested.
