Luanda - The White House announced Tuesday (Oct 8) the postponement of the visit of the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, to Angola, which was scheduled for the 13th, 14th and 15th of the current month.
The postponement is due to the trajectory and strength of Hurricane Milton, which is approaching American territory.
Because of that, the White House explained, President Biden has postponed the trip to Germany and Angola, to oversee the preparations and response to Hurricane Milton, in addition to the continued response to the impacts of Hurricane Helene throughout the Southeast.
The statement issued by the White House does not indicate new visit dates.
The North American authorities officially communicated to the Presidency of the Republic of Angola the postponement of the visit, before the White House official publication.
