Luanda – Angola’s Speaker of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, travels this Saturday to Paris (France), to participate in the Summit of Presidents of Parliaments from around the world, taking place on the 6th and 7th this month.
The organization was founded in 2003 by Silvana Koch-Mehrin, former vice president of the European Parliament. The forum, which celebrates 11 years of existence, is a space for sharing experiences between women leaders from all over the world and analyzing advances and challenges in strengthening equity, participation and opportunities for women globally.
WPL (Women Political Leaders) is a global network of women political leaders at an international level, including the European Parliament, which currently has around nine thousand members.
Based in Reykjavik, Iceland, WPL contributes to increasing the number and influence of women in political leadership positions.
Parliamentarians Rosa Branca Albino, Florbela Malaquias and Albertina Navita Ngolo are also part of the Angolan delegation led by the Angolan National Assembly Speaker. DC/VIC/DOJ
