Luanda - The presidential and vice-presidential candidates of the ruling MPLA will now be designated by the Central Committee on the proposal of the Political Bureau, the 8th Extraordinary Congress of the party decided in Luanda on Tuesday.
The decision follows the amendment of article 120 of the MPLA statutes, which stipulates that the party's president should head the list of candidates for the legislative and national constituency elections and will also be a candidate for president of the republic. SC/TED/AMP
