Mbanza Kongo – The civil registration campaign in northern Zaire province has exceeded the expectations as the region managed to issue and deliver 112, 445 identity cards (ID).
The head of the Provincial Department of Civil and Criminal Identification, Paixão Fernando Correia, told Angop on Wednesday that the goal set by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights for the province of Zaire was 105, 579 identity cards.
We consider the result of the expansion of civil registration campaign and free delivery of ID here in our region positive, as the initial goal set 105,579 documents at the level of the six municipalities in the province has been exceeded”, he said.
The campaign, carried out from November 2019 to December 2022, covered the most remote zones of the municipalities of Mbanza Kongo, Soyo, Cuimba, Tomboco, Nzeto and Nóqui.
