Cabinda - The provincial secretary of UNITA in Cabinda, João Manuel, defended the need to continue to invest in the humanization of hospital services, in order to provide quality public care.
João Manuel suggested that an articulated work be carried out, with the involvement of health professionals and other institutions, so that the results are visible not only in reference hospitals, but also in health posts and centers, especially in the interior of the province of Cabinda.
The politician, who made these statements at a press conference that served to evaluate the activity carried out by the Government of the Province of Cabinda, in the first half of this year, called for more investments in the primary public health network, focusing on the improvement of infrastructure, means, equipment and human staff capable of guaranteeing quality medical and drug assistance to the populations.
For the head of the largest opposition party, it is necessary that the health units can have basic services such as clinical laboratories, x-rays, maternity, pharmacy, drinking water, electricity, ambulance, among other services.
'It is necessary to meet the necessary conditions in the health units of the peripheries to prevent the inhabitants from going to the large health centers in search of medical assistance and medication,' he stressed.
The provincial secretary of UNITA also expressed concern about the high crime rate in Cabinda, mostly committed by foreign citizens, mainly from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
For this reason, he appealed to the authorities to work to put an end to the situation and develop a climate of tranquility for the citizens.
He also encouraged cooperation to work to curb cross-border crimes, especially fuel contracting, and illegal immigration, which tends to become alarming in the region. JFC/SC/DOJ
