Cabinda – The remains of ill-fated opposition MP Raúl Manuel Danda were buried in his home village of Malembo, 35 kilometres of northern Cabinda province capital city, on Friday.
The casket with the remains of Raúl Danda arrived in Cabinda on Thursday evening, having remained until Friday in his residence, in the residential complex of Buco-Goio, outskirts of the city.
On Friday, before the burial, the MP received a homage from Cabinda governor, Marcos Nhunga, who considered Raul Danda an “exemplary figure”.
The homages to the deceased included messages from his family, from his UNITA party and from the National Assembly, in which the qualities of the MP and journalist Raúl Danda were highlighted.
The burial was witnessed by members of the Cabinda society, including politicians and church officials.
Earlier on Thursday, Raúl Danda had been honoured in Angola’s capital Luanda by State officials and members of the society.
Raul Manuel Danda died of decease in a Luanda clinic on Saturday (8).
