Luanda - The second day of work of the 9th Ordinary Congress of the youth wing of the ruling party People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), which began on Thursday (21), will feature the election of the new First National Secretary and members of the National Committee.
The top spot of the JMPLA is being disputed by Adilson Amado Mamene Hach and Justino Fernando de Castro Capapinha, who are in the electoral competition to succeed the current leader, Crispiniano dos Santos,
According to the agenda, on the same day, the participants of the congress will also keep in touch with the reports of the work done by the subcommittees.
On the first day of the partisan youth organization event, the delegates presented the amendment to their statutes, the adjustments to the Programmatic Plan (2024/2029) and the thesis focused on patriotism, pride, love and devotion to the country.
The event is scheduled to end on Saturday (23).
More than 1,795 delegates from all JMPLA structures, both national and international, as well as special guests, are participating in the congress, under the motto "JMPLA - For the Homeland in the Service of Youth".
JMPLA was founded on November 23, 1962, in Leopoldville (now Kinshasa), in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), in the context of the first national liberation war.
