Luanda – UNITA on Friday in Luanda announced its intention to create, over the next five years, a risk management plan for corruption and related offences to prevent and combat this phenomenon in Angola.
UNITA's candidate for President of the Republic, Adalberto Costa Júnior, who was speaking on Angolan Public Television said that his party has a plan to create a high authority against corruption and establish a rehabilitation programme for people who have been involved in active and passive corruption cases.
UNITA also defends the implementation of institutional reforms needed to prevent the practice of corruption, nepotism and the influence peddling.
The fight against corruption has been one of the main priorities of the current government since 2017, having resulted in the recovery of several assets in Angola and public funds diverted outside the country.
UNITA is one of the eight contestants running for the upcoming general elections.
