Luanda: MPLA promises to re-evaluate the public sector’s remuneration system, in order to make the workers’ salaries more compatible, informed this Tuesday, in Luanda, Manuel Nunes Júnior, member of the Political Bureau.
This plan is part of MPLA’s governing programme for the 2022-2027 period, which will be implemented if the party wins the general election on the 24th
of August.
Manuel Nunes Júnior presented the governing programme to private and public media journalists, within the frameworks of the electoral campaign which
runs from the 24th of July until the 22nd of August of the current year. For Nunes Júnior, the reassessment of the remuneration system of the public
sector is fundamental.
“It must be our main goal. We have to make sure that the public sector cadres are valued and ready to serve the public”, added Manuel Nunes Junior,
without going into further details.
The minimum wage in Angola is 67, 807.00 kwanzas. In February of this year, the members of the National Assembly unanimously approved, the proposal
which authorizes the President of the Republic, as Chief Executive, to legislate on the general principles relating to the organization and
implementation of the evidentiary structure of salary tables and subsidies or salary supplements of the public sector.
This document, which was shown to the journalists, envisions government’s commitments with the aspirations of the population, with particular emphasis
on the consolidation of peace and democracy, state reform and good governance, harmonious development of the country and promotion of human
resources, through emphasis on education, health, and employment.
It also assesses aspects related to culture and sports, the reduction of social inequality, the battle against hunger and poverty, gender inequality,
modernization and efficiency of infrastructures, boosting of the diversification of the economy mainly through the agricultural and private
sector.
Defense of the sovereignty, integrity and national security, are also part of the programme.
