Luanda – The Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) promises to reduce social inequalities and invest in the development of human capital in case of winning the general elections on 24 August, stated Friday, Higino Carneiro, Central Committee member of the MPLA
While presenting the ruling party´s electoral manifesto and its governance programme to members of civil society in Kilamba Kiaxi Municipality (Luanda Province) the politician noted that his party promotes equality and opportunities for all citizens.
Higino Carneiro highlighted that MPLA´s programme involves consolidating peace and the democratic rule of law, reform of the state, justice and public administration, modernization of infrastructures, defence of sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as creating a good business environment and establishment of local elections.
The politician, who listed the main achievements of MPLA in the last five years, mainly in the education, health, infrastructures, energy and water sectors, urged citizens “not to be fooled by unrealistic electoral promises and to vote for continuity”.
João Lourenço urged citizens to return to their homes after voting and to refrain from any kind of vandalism at polling stations.
The election campaign began on 24 July and ends next Monday, 22 July. The 23rd of August is dedicated to reflection.
