Luanda - A total of 276,641 delegates were registered by political parties and coalition of parties, for the elections of 24 August.
This was announced Saturday in Luanda by the spokesman for National Electoral Commission (CNE), Lucas Quilundo, who was speaking at the end of an extraordinary plenary session of this body.
The registration process also includes delegates, who will be part of the polling stations abroad, and for these only the MPLA and UNITA did so, said Lucas Quilundo.
He stressed that the registration of delegates on the list is the sole responsibility of the parties or coalition, so once the deadline for this (3 August) has expired, it will no longer be possible.
He argues that the non-registration of list delegates has no influence or effect on the validity of results at polling stations.
This year's elections, which will have the participation of Angolans in the diaspora for the first time, are the fifth in Angola's history, after those in 1992, 2008, 2012 and 2017.
More than 14.3 million voters, of whom 22,560 residing abroad, are expected to vote.
