Luanda - National Police restored calm in some Luanda streets on Thursday (25) after the incidents following the failure of payment to the delegates from the lists of some political parties in return for the work performed during the general elections.
This was confirmed by spokesman for the General Elections Assurance Command Post, Commissioner Orlando Bernardo, while speaking at press conference.
He said that the protesters, who destroyed some public assets, worked as list delegates for some political parties.
Among the political parties that allegedly did not make the payment, the official mentioned the National Patriotic Alliance (APN) and FNLA.
The senior police officer clarified “that these incidents have nothing to do with the provisional results released by the National Electoral Commission, but rather result from the inconsistency of some political parties”.
The spokesman clarified that no incident has been reported during the August 24 elections.
