Luanda – The presidential candidate of the Humanist Party of Angola (PHA), Bela Malaquias, said Wednesday that “there is no justification for Angolans to die of hunger or eat in rubbish containers”.
During her party´s ten minutes of airtime on Public Television (TPA), Bela Malaquias, the only woman candidate for presidency in the 24 August elections, said that the government should create conditions to provide food for all, taking into account that food is a health factor that allows people to stay alive.
She added that it is the State´s responsibility to provide health for all citizens, as well as food, having promised equal treatment and on tackling all forms of discrimination against women, in case she wins the ballot this month.
For the humanist leader, women must have freedom of assembly, as well as participation in politics and understanding of the social and political paradigm, in order to effect action in this important field of the country´s life.
“Women must be able to assume leadership positions, to take decisions that directly affect the political, economic and social life of the country”, she stressed, having recalled that it is necessary to create a more inclusive society, strengthen democracy and promote collective satisfaction.
She also said that women know and can better clarify the needs of their gender, identify the problems and present solutions, offer insertion opportunities and ensure the improvement of public policy projects and outreach for all.
Bela Malaquias continues working in Cabinda Province, with a political agenda including direct contact with voters and the carrying out of a mass act.
Eight political forces, namely MPLA, UNITA, CASA-CE, PRS, FNLA, APN, PHA and P-NJANGO are enticing over 14.3 million voters.
