Dundo - At least 725,000 liters of smuggled diesel were seized in the eastern province of Lunda Norte, as part of the "X-Ray" operation, police have said.
Police said that the fuel was heading to the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The fuel was handed over to the General Tax Administration as a trustee, said the technician of the Press Office of the provincial command of the National Police in Lunda Norte, Alexandre Pereira.
He also mentioned the means used in the illegal diamond exploitation as having been seized.
He stressed that 803 citizens from the DRC were also detained for illegally entering the national territory through the borders of Cuango, Caungula, Lóvua, Chitato and Cambulo.
The X-Ray Operation aims to combat illegal immigration, exploitation and illicit trafficking in diamonds and fuel smuggling. HD/CF/NIC
