Luanda - The Angolan community in Mozambique and citizens of this country in Angola now have easier access to the Ombuds service with the aim to consolidate their rights, freedoms and guarantees, an official source announced Friday.
According to the Angolan Ombudswan, Florbela Araújo, the easy access to justice process comes as a result of the implementation of an agreement signed by both countries' Ombudspersosns in April.
The Angolan ombudswoman explained that the agreement has 11 clauses and is renewable annually, with the manifestation of both parties or changing circumstances.
"For the parties, this act means the strengthening of knowledge sharing and experience exchange for the intensification of the institutional relationship and better serve the citizens," Ms Araujo said.
In order to share knowledge and exchange information, for the institutional strengthening of the parties that signed the agreement, Angola ombudswoman held a meeting with the Ambassador of Mozambique to Angola, Osvalda Joana.
Florbela Araújo spoke of the need to establish cooperation through mechanisms to be defined in the scope of the attributions of both institutions, aimed to guarantee the promotion and defence of the rights, freedoms and guarantees of citizens.
The Mozambican ambassador said the meeting served to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, since more than a thousand Mozambicans live in Angola.
With the implementation of the agreement, the ambassador said, the citizens of both countries can now count on more facilitation and support in resolving their concerns resulting from dealing with the Public Administration, whether by action or omission.
The Ombudsman is an independent public organ that has the objective of defending the rights, liberties and guarantees of the citizens, assuring, through informal means, the justice and legality of the Public Administration.
