The resolution called for the cancellation of Israel's order for Palestinian civilians and the UN staff, as well as humanitarian and medical workers to evacuate all areas of the Gaza Strip north of the Wadi Gaza and move to southern Gaza.
The document recalls and reiterates that civilians are protected by international humanitarian law and must receive humanitarian assistance wherever they are.
On the other hand, the resolution reiterates the need to adopt appropriate measures to ensure the safety and well-being of civilians, especially children, and their protection, and to enable them to live in safety.
It affirms that a rightful and lasting solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine can only be achieved by peaceful means, on the basis of the important resolutions of the United Nations and respect for international law, and on the basis of the two states solution.
The Tenth Emergency Special Session was called due to an obstacle registered at the level of the Security Council, after three draft resolutions presented by Brazil, the US and Russia were rejected.
