Nagoya - Angola signed this Tuesday, in the city of Nagoya in Japan, three memorandums of understanding with the Japanese multinational Toyota Tsusho Corporation, in the fields of energy, water and health.
The memorandums were signed at the headquarters of the Japanese multinational, in an act witnessed by the Angolan President, João Lourenço, who, since the 12th of this month, is making a four-day state visit to Japan.
The agreement linked to energy and water foresees the construction of groundwater collection systems (boreholes), powered by solar energy, which will mitigate the problems of drought in southern Angola.
The purpose of the memorandum in the field of health is the donation of a vehicle for the refrigerated transport of vaccines.
The third agreement covers the “Sociedade de Desenvolvimento da Barra do Dande” (Barra do Dande Development Society, in English) and includes the construction of renewable energy supply facilities, as well as water supply systems in the free zone of this municipality in the province of Bengo.
Last Monday, in the Japanese city of Tokyo, Angola and Japan signed a letter of intent for cooperation in the space field, which covers the training of Angolan staff.
