Luanda - The Angolan Head of State João Lourenço defended last Monday in Luanda the bet on strengthening the friendship relations and economic cooperation with Cape Verde in the scope of the common advantages.
João Lourenço while speaking in the opening of the official talking between both country´s delegations in the framework of the State visit of the Cape Verde president José Maria Neves, highlighted that the fortification of the bilateral relations should have the aim in developing a strategic cooperation for the interest of the respective peoples.
The Angola statesman recognized the barriers imposed by the covid-19 that in latest years stopped the economic growth of Angola and Cape Verde.
The Angolan leader highlighted the fact that his counterpart had included in his business delegation several sectors of the economy which might boost the trade changes among the two countries.
"Angola and Cape Verde have a history and the same political journey that encourages us to continue together and to deepen the existing friendship ties and cooperation", stressed the Angolan president.
For João Lourenço, the future of both countries is promising and it is up to the governments the responsibility to explore at the highest level all the existing opportunities.
However, in the scope of his three days State visit that started last Sunday, José Maria Neves had a private meeting with the President João Lourenço and visited the António Agostinho Neto Memorial.
