Luanda - Angola Friday called for an increase in economic and business partnerships with reciprocal and balanced advantages amongst the members of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP).
The Angolan position was expressed by Foreign Affair Minister, Téte António, at the opening of the Council of Ministers of the CPLP held in Luanda.
At the forum, which is being held under the slogan, "Economic cooperation in the CPLP, Teté António said he hoped that the exchange would provide comprehensive and sustainable development of markets in each of the member states with positive effects on the quality of life of their respective populations.
The minister said that Angola hoped that this model of cooperation would contribute to achieving African Union Agenda 2063 and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He referred to the need for a multifaceted and mutually beneficial community exchange in the implementation of social and macroeconomic policies aimed at promoting greater equality of opportunities.
Likewise, in the sense of the insertion of women in society, as well as the increase of youth intervention in the community space.
The acting chairperson of the Council of Ministers of CPLP defended the search for common solutions on the basis of multilateralism in a world of complex challenges such as terrorism, extremism, climate change and COVID-19.
It reaffirmed Angola's engagement in the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts in Africa, contributing to peaceful solutions that promote mediation and political dialogue, fundamental to the development of democracy and the rule of law on the continent.
He recalled the Angolan initiative in organizing the Summit of African Statesmen on terrorism and unconstitutional changes, which distinguished the President of the Republic with the title of "African Union Champion for Peace and Reconciliation".
The minister alluded to a series of steps already taken to boost cooperation among the members of the community.
