Luanda – The minister of National Defence, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland, João Ernesto dos Santos, has been in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since Monday, to participate in the 18th Edition of the “Dubai Airshow 2023”, which takes place from the 13th to the 17th of November, at Dubai World Central (DWC).
Accompanied by the Angolan ambassador to the UAE, Júlio Maiato, he attended the event´s opening ceremony, which took place under the support of the vice-president, prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and also the governor of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The event is supported by key aviation industry stakeholders including Dubai Airports, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), UAE Ministry of Defence, Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP) and UAE Space Agency.
It showcases sustainability initiatives and technologies from government entities and the aerospace industry in general, further reinforcing the UAE's commitment to promoting sustainable circularity ahead of the COP28 summit, scheduled for December this year.
More than 1,400 world-class exhibitors, more than 180 aircraft are on display and more than 300 speakers participate in this edition.
In 2021, the Dubai Airshow made it possible to generate more than 74 billion dollars in business deals during the event.
