Luanda - The National Assembly Speaker, Carolina Cerqueira, highlighted, on Sunday, in Ankara, Turkey, the need to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, within the framework of bilateral agreements.
Carolina Cerqueira, who began a working visit at the invitation of her Turkish counterpart, Numam Kurtulmus, said, upon her arrival in Ankara, that the two parliaments have some similarities in relation to female representation, with Angola at 38%, and diversity of political parties.
The Head of the Angolan parliament mentioned the fact that the two parliaments identified collaboration and concertation areas in the field of parliamentary diplomacy, within the regional and international framework.
Carolina Cerqueira said that the Angolan delegation will take the chance to detail the Angolan experience in the field of conflict resolution and peacekeeping promotion and harmony.
During four days, the Angola parliament Speaker, who heads a parliamentary delegation, has on her agenda a meeting with her Turkish counterpart, Numan Kurtulmus, talks between members of the two parliaments, as well as visits to the African Crafts Market and House of Culture, Museum of Independence.
She will also visit the areas bombed during the July 15, 2016 coup attempt, the Ayasofya-i Kebir Mosque (Hagia Sophia), Grand Bazaar and İstinye Park, historical places located in the city of Istanbul.
The Angolan parliamentary delegation is made up of deputies Vigílio Tyova, Liberty Chiaka, Alcides Sakala, Carla Cavita, Norberto dos Santos and the national assembly's secretary general, Pedro Agostinho de Neri.
