Luanda - A delegation from the National Assembly (AN) takes part in the 1st Meeting of Women Parliamentarians of the P20, the G20 Legislative Power forum that started Monday in Maceió, Alagoas state (Brazil).
According to a press release, MP Aia-Eza da Silva, who heads the Angolan delegation, considered the event to be important, as it is discussing topics linked to women worldwide.
The MP pointed to climate sustainability and gender-sensitive policies, the participation of women in politics, women's representation in decision-making spaces and the fight against inequality as the themes under discussion during the two-day meeting.
The meeting held under the motto "Building a just world” aims to increase the participation of female deputies and senators in the agendas of the group of the world's largest economies.
Around 30 delegations from international organizations and national parliaments attend the meeting, which is debating various issues linked to climate, social inclusion, the fight against hunger and poverty and the global reform of institutions. VIC/TED/AMP
