Luanda - Angola is taking part from Monday until Tuesday in Kampala, Uganda, in the technical preparatory meeting of the 19th Non-Aligned Movement Summit, to be held in the coming days.
According to a press release to which ANGOP had access, over the next two days the delegates will work in two committees, one on political issues and the other on the economy and social issues, whose mission is to prepare documentation for the ministerial meeting on 17 and 18 January 2024.
The work of the technical delegations from 120 countries and observer organisations from the Non-Aligned Movement corresponds to the first of three specific sessions that make up the ministerial segment and the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, scheduled for 19 and 20 January 2024 in Kampala.
The Angolan technical team is made up by the ambassador Sara Silva, director of Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Angola’s ambassador to Uganda, Sianga Abílio, who resides in Kenya, as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic mission.
The Non-Aligned Movement is a concert of nations that, among various objectives of general interest, promotes friendly relations between countries, defends peaceful resolution of international disputes, as well as invests in the protection of human rights and the environment.
