Luanda - The secretary of State for International Cooperation and Communities, Domingos Vieira Lopes, is representing Angola in the G20 Summit, which is taking place between the 11th and 12th of this month in Brasilia, Brazil.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this first participation of Angola (as an observer country) in this event is the result of an invitation from the Brazilian presidency of the G20.
The meeting's agenda includes providing delegates and participants with information on the G20's administrative and logistical arrangements, summarising working methods, social inclusion and the fight against hunger.
The meeting taking place at the headquarters of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also known as Itamaraty, will also present the pillars of Brazil's management of the G20, namely the fight against hunger and poverty, sustainable development (economic, social and environmental) and the reform of global governance, as well as the first meeting of Finance Deputies and Finance Central Banks, scheduled for the 14th and 15th.
The G20 is an informal forum that promotes open and constructive debate between industrialised and emerging countries on key issues related to economic and global stability and includes South Africa, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, South Korea, the United States, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Russia, Turkey and the European Union.
