Luanda - Angola participated on Wednesday, in Malabo, capital of Equatorial Guinea, in the 25th session of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS).
The meeting is aimed to prepare the 25th Conference of Heads of State and Government of the mentioned organization.
According to a press release ANGOP has had access to, Angola was represented by the minister of National Defence, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland, João Ernesto dos Santos.
The session aimed at preparing the fundamental documents that should be submitted for assessment at the conference which is scheduled for the 18th, considered the Reports of the Committees of Experts and the Specialized Committees of ECCAS ´s Ministers.
The reports portray crucial aspects of the Community's Regional Integration process, with emphasis on the organization's institutional reform.
It also considered the review and normative elaboration of policies and creation and reorganization of the structures of the Sub-region's Peace and Security agenda, as well as the organization's Financial Sustainability to finance programs and operations.
The agenda also included the issue related to the integration, the operationalization of the ECCAS Common Market, monetary and financial economic issues, as well as consideration of the Rationalization of Regional Economic Communities.
The Republic of Equatorial Guinea currently temporarily presides over the Community which is made up of eleven member states, namely Angola, Burundi, Congo, Cameroon, Gabon, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Central African Republic (CAR), Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe and Chad.
It has a potential market of 200 million consumers and a combined gross domestic product (GDP) of USD 523 billion with potentialities in the fields of mineral extraction, agriculture, fishing, tourism and transport.
