São Vicente - The Vice President of Angola, Esperança da Costa, is taking part in the 1st International Congress on "Science, Innovation and Development in Lusophony", to be held on the island of São Vicente, in the Republic of Cabo Verde, from 18 to 20 of the current month.
With the aim of showing the importance of science and research for sustainable development, the event, which is organised by the Lusófona University of Cabo Verde, will be attended by Guinea-Bissau, Brazil and Portugal, as well as Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe.
Taking place in a hybrid format (online and in person) under the slogan "Assuming its role as a driver of knowledge", the event will reflect on the blue economy, renewable energy, digital transition, new information and communication technologies, among other topics.
According to the programme, Esperança da Costa will make her first speech at the opening session, which is scheduled for 3pm on Wednesday and will be chaired by the President of the Republic of Cabo Verde, José Maria Neves.
Meanwhile, a series of academic activities will precede the congress, with a focus on international conferences.
