Luanda – The National Assembly Speaker, Carolina Cerqueira, considered on Tuesday, in Luanda, that Angola and Morocco maintain privileged parliamentary relations due to the level of consultation and closer contacts in several areas.
The Speaker made these statements to the press, on the sidelines of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the reign of Mohammed VI of Morocco.
On the occasion, Carolina Cerqueira stated that interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries was reinforced during the visit that the Angolan parliamentary mission carried out to Morocco last year.
According to her, this served to learn about Moroccan parliamentary activity and to sign a cooperation protocol between two parliaments, especially in the areas of geopolitical consultation, staff training and parliamentary administration.
Carolina Cerqueira highlighted the participation of a “strong” Moroccan parliamentary delegation in the interparliamentary meeting, held in October 2023, in Luanda, and the consultation on fundamental issues linked to peace on the continent, the situation of youth and their integration in programs of development of their respective countries.
He also highlighted the regional programs that involve parliamentarians, both in the field of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and Francophonie.
On July 30th of each year, Morocco celebrates the accession of King Mohammed VI to the throne. The current monarch succeeded his father Hassan II on July 30, 1999.
