Luanda - The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, on Wednesday congratulated the Congolese people, Government and President Denis Sassou Nguesso, on the celebration of the 63rd independence anniversary of the the Republic of Congo, which is celebrated on August 15.
In his congratulatory message, João Lourenço expressed his happiness given the way in which the Republic of Congo has been conquering an important space within African Nations.
He added that the achievements mentioned are a result of the efforts of the Republic of Congo in building a consistent democracy and the solid foundations on which the country's economic development programs are based.
President João Lourenço expressed the interest of the Angolan government in continuing to make efforts towards the continuous strengthening of the existing friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries.
The Republic of Congo, whose capital is the city of Brazzaville, is located in the centre-west region of Africa, having a territorial extension of approximately 342,000 square kilometers.
