Nairobi - Vice-President of Angola Esperança da Costa held a meeting on Tuesday afternoon in Nairobi (Kenya) with the President of Tanzania Samia Suhulu Hassan in the context of strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the African Climate Summit, being held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre.
In February this year, the two countries signed an agreement in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, setting up a bilateral commission to deal with the implementation of the commitments made by the parties.
The document was signed by the Angolan Minister for Foreign Affairs Téte António and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Co-operation with East Africa of Tanzania Stergomena Lawrence.
Angola's Foreign Affairs minister Téte António said that Angola and Tanzania had long-standing friendly relations, but lacked legal instruments to give them consistency.
The Memorandum signed include one on the exchange of experiences between Angola's "Venâncio de Moura" Diplomatic Academy and its Tanzanian counterpart.
In turn, the minister Stergomena Lawrence recognised the importance of cooperation with Angola and considered exchanges between diplomatic academies crucial. NE/OHA/ADR/DAN/NIC
