Luanda - The deepening of bilateral relations in the political, diplomatic, economic and commercial fields between Angola and the Kingdom of Sweden was analyzed Tuesday, in Stockholm, during a meeting between the Secretaries of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, and for Energy, Business and Industry, Daniel Liljeberg.
The meeting between the two entities took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, and the Angolan delegation was also attended by the Secretary of State for Energy, Arlindo Manuel Carlos, the European Director of Mirex, Maria Cuandina de Carvalho, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Angola to the Kingdom of Sweden, Cecília de Rosário.
The Kingdom of Sweden has shown a strong interest in working hard with the Angolan State to strengthen mutual cooperation by identifying new areas of collaboration that will benefit the good relations maintained between the two countries.
Sweden is a major energy consumer due to its cold climate and its industrial activity. The country's energy supply is based on nuclear, hydro and wind power, and through fossil fuels and biofuels.
The Swedish market is one of the most advanced in terms of energy transition. By 2030, almost a third of the energy consumed in the European Union should come from renewable sources, according to the targets set in 2018. Sweden has a diversified and highly developed economy, being one of the richest and most advanced nations in the world.
Its economic potential is based on several fundamental pillars, namely the Technology Industry and Innovation; Manufacturing Industry; Sustainability and Green Energy; and Education and Human Capital.

Companies such as Ericsson, Spotify and Volvo were born in the country.
