Luanda - A legal instrument on the Reciprocal Recognition of Academic Qualifications, Titles and Diplomas was signed, this Thursday in Belgrade, between Angola and Serbia, as part of strengthening bilateral cooperation deal.
According to a press release to which ANGOP has had Access, the document was signed by the minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and the Minister of Education of Serbia, Slavica Djukic Dejanovic.
The purpose of this agreement is the reciprocal recognition of educational qualifications, titles and academic diplomas acquired in Angola and Serbia, in order to provide holders with access to continued training and the exercise of professional activity in both states, granting academic rights and professionals in accordance with the laws applicable in these two countries.
"The aforementioned Agreement is valid for a period of five years, automatically renewable for an equal and successive period, unless one of the parties expresses the intention to shot it down, and must do so in writing, at least 90 days in advance, via diplomatic”, clarifies the statement.
Serbia was one of the first countries in Europe and the third in the world to recognize Angola's independence, in 1975, having, at the time, shared the spirit of the Non-Aligned Countries.
