Luanda - Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe defended the need to strengthen and boost cooperation in the fields of defence and internal order, justice, finance, air and maritime transport.
This is part of 20-23 December 2020 visiting programme of minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities of São Tomé and Príncipe, Edite Ramos da Costa Ten, to Angola
The two countries also defend the commitment to mineral and oil resources, tourism, fisheries and the sea, investment promotion, trade, media, among others.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex), the importance of the historical relations of friendship, fraternity and cooperation existing between the two states was also reaffirmed by both countries.
During the visit, the delegations assessed the current state of bilateral cooperation by analyzing the different legal instruments signed.
The parties reiterated the commitment of the respective Governments to provide greater dynamism in relations between the two countries, with a view to exploring new areas of common interest identified in the Verbal Process, signed in São Tomé and Príncipe, on May 14, 2019.
As part of this visit, the heads of delegations signed an agreement on Reciprocal Exemption from Visas in Diplomatic, Service and Ordinary Passports.
The delegations took the opportunity to review international and regional issues of common interest and noted, with satisfaction, the convergence of views, having reiterated the importance of regular consultation between the two Governments.
The Parties welcomed the cordial and fraternal atmosphere that characterised the work, and considered it important to hold regular meetings to revitalise cooperation and monitor the process of implementing the commitments assumed.
During her stay in Angola, the minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe was received, in audience, by the President of the Republic, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço.
At the audience, the visitor delivered a message from the President of São Tomé and Príncipe, Evaristo do Espírito Santo Carvalho.
São Tome delegation also held a working meeting with an Angolan delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António.
