Accra - Angola and Rwanda reiterated on Saturday in Accra their commitment to deepening bilateral political consultations.
The intention was expressed at the meeting between the ministers of Foreign Affairs of Angola, Téte António, and Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda, Oliver Nduhungireh, on the sidelines of the sixth meeting of the AU Biannual Coordination, which takes place this Sunday.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of bilateral, regional and international interest.
Ministers Téte António and Olivier Nduhungirehe spoke earlier, on 15 July, on the occasion of the Virtual Ministerial Meeting of the AU Peace and Security Council, under the theme 'The Role of Mediation and Reconciliation in Conflict Resolution in the Eastern Region of the DRC-The Luanda and Nairobi Processes'.
The event was chaired by Angola, in its capacity as president of the AU Peace and Security Council for the month of July 2024.
This was the first meeting between Minister Téte António and his Rwandan counterpart, Olivier Nduhungirehe, since he was sworn in by President Paul Kagame, replacing Vincent Biruta. SC/ART/DOJ
