Luanda – Angola and the United Kingdom on Saturday, in Luanda Province, expressed their interest in working continuously to align the established commitments, to contribute to deepening the levels of relations and achieving the various common objectives.
The position of the two countries was expressed during an audience granted by the Angolan minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, to the ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland accredited to Angola, Bharat Suresh Joshi.
At the Angolan Foreign Affairs Ministry headquarters, the two diplomats evaluated bilateral issues linked to the continuation of existing cooperation.
The new British ambassador presented his Letter of Credence to the Head of State, João Lourenço, on Thursday, 14th, of this month, in a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace.
In addition to Angola, where he has resident status, Bharat Joshi was also appointed as non-resident ambassador in the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe.
Angola and the United Kingdom have a strong economic partnership, especially in the oil sector and within the framework of economic diversification.
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and is an island nation located in Northwest Europe.
