Luanda - Experts from Angola and Mozambique began on Sunday, in Maputo, the work of the 10th Session of the Bilateral Mixed Commission to deepen cooperation ties between the two countries, ANGOP has learnt.
According to a note, the meeting of experts aims to assess the ongoing projects between the two countries, review the agreements in force, as well as the constraints for their execution and envisage new cooperation areas.
During the meeting, the commission addressed issues in the fields of politics and diplomacy, defense, interior, territorial administration, economy and finance, transport and communications.
The meeting also analyzed issues related to industry, commerce, energy, mineral resources, oil, public works, agriculture, fisheries, sea, environment, among others.
The Angolan delegation to the event is led by the director for Africa, Middle East and Regional Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jorge Cardoso, and includes senior staff from various ministerial departments.
Cooperation between Angola and Mozambique are based on historical ties of friendship, fraternity and solidarity.
The two States signed on September 5, 1978, a General Agreement on Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation, while the Bilateral Cooperation Commission was created on the same date.
Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, the two countries have signed several agreements and protocols, with emphasis on the agreement on visa exemptions for diplomatic, service and ordinary passports.
The areas of cooperation extend to mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, youth, social communication and foreign affairs.
