Luanda - The heads of the Angola and Mozambique diplomatic corps Tuesday in Maputo discussed a number of relevant issues with a view to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
According to a press release, the two ministers, Téte António (Angola) and Verónica Dlhovo (Mozambique), exchanged views on relevant issues at national, regional and continental level.
The meeting held on the sidelines of the 10th Session of the Bilateral Commission between Angola and Mozambique, also served to assess the degree of cooperation between the two countries.
Angola's role in the Peace and Security Council in the 2024-2025, the presidency of the African Union in 2025 and the Angolan vote in favor of Mozambique in the elections for a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council were also discussed.
The statement added that Mozambique's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation praised Angola's role in resolving conflicts, particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Verónica Dlhovo said that the conflicts in Sudan and the DRC and the intensification of terrorism in several African countries are creating a climate of destabilization and insecurity on the African continent. FMA/VIC/AMP
