Luanda – Angola’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, on Friday defended a strengthening of the partnership with the Republic of India in the field of the pharmaceutical industry, especially in the chapter of training Angolan professionals.
The Angolan diplomat made this statement during a meeting to strengthen bilateral relations and identify new areas of cooperation between Angola and India.
On the occasion, Esmeralda Mendonça also highlighted the reformulation of the Angolan Private Investment Law, which now provides a better business environment for foreigners.
During the meeting, the diplomat highlighted the excellent relations existing between the two countries.
She also stressed the exemption of visas in diplomatic and service passports, as well as the strong Indian presence in the trade sector in Angola.
On his turn, the Indian secretary, Sevala Naik Mude, gave a positive note to the economic reforms that are being implemented by the Angolan Government, boosting the strengthening of relations between India and Angola.
The head of the Indian delegation expressed the desire to see cooperation in the areas of health also increased, above all the pharmaceutical industry, timber, agriculture, energy, oil and gas, as well as the identification of new areas where mutual advantages could be sought for the two countries and people.
Today, the parts are expected to sign a Joint Communiqué on Angola-India political consultations.
Angola and India have maintained political and diplomatic relations for over 40 years, and have established important cooperation ties on health, education, agriculture, technologies, trade and pharmaceutical industry. FMA/SC/DOJ
