Luanda – Four juridical instruments were signed on Friday, in Luanda, by the governments of Angola and France, in the framework of the official visit to Angola of the French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The signed protocols are namely the financing agreement between Angola and the French Development Agency, credit facilitation agreement between Angola and the French Development and Conception Agency, accord on building and supplying a satellite system for the observation of the Earth.
An addendum to the conception contract, plus for the one on building and supplying a satellite system was signed at a ceremony that took place in the Presidential Palace and witnessed by the heads of State of Angola, João Lourenço, and France, Emmanuel Macron.
Satellite System
The mentioned observation satellite, dubbed ANGEO-1 and deemed of high performance, will be built by the Airbus Defence and Space, in France.
The same satellite is said to be useful to preview agricultural production results, monitor deforestation, monitor construction works, monitor and detect oil spill on sea, plus to monitor ships.
Through ANGEO-1 it is possible to make over one thousand high resolution images per day, thus being appropriate for the main needs of Angola.
This satellite is also intended to be used for the development of infrastructures, mapping of natural resources, maritime vigilance, including in fisheries, plus in agriculture, census works, among other uses.
