Luanda – Angola’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Téte António, and the US ambassador to the country, Tulinabo Mushingi on Monday discussed ways to strengthen political-diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries.
According to a press release sent to ANGOP on Tuesday, the two sides also discussed the holding in Angola of an annual summit of the Corporate Council on Africa, a large-scale event that brings together political and economic leaders from the continent and the US.
Founded in 1993, the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) is the main business association in the United States focused exclusively on connecting business interests in Africa and has been fundamental in promoting business and investment between Americans and Africans.
The two diplomats reviewed issues related to the decisions taken during the 2nd ministerial meeting on the Security and Peace Situation in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) held in Luanda on July 30, as well as the prevailing political situation in Sudan.
Angola and the United States have established a partnership creating strategic economic corridors that benefit local populations and integrate them into the global economy.
Angola's commitment to economic reform since 2017 has laid the foundations for greater commercial and governmental engagement by the United States of America.
Relations between the two countries are deepening with regular engagements and growing co-operation on key common objectives. FMA/VIC/DAN/AMP
