Luanda - Angola and the US Thursday in Luanda committed to continue strengthening political, diplomatic and economic-business cooperation ties for the well-being of both states and peoples.
Téte António, Angola’s Foreign Affairs minister, who was speaking during the joint press conference with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, said the good atmosphere towards Angola-US relations results from the commitment of the diplomacy of both countries.
The Angolan top diplomat said his country has plenty of room for strengthening cooperation with the United States and other international players, given the many needs that the country faces.
The US Secretary of State on his turn, emphasized his government's willingness to continue to institutionally sponsor political stability, security, good governance and the safeguarding of human rights for Angolans, the southern region and the African continent.
Antony Blinken underlined that Angola is and will continue to be an important and unavoidable player in maintaining peace and stability in Africa, above all in the Southern and Central regions.
Antony Blinken's visit to Angola is part of his tour to some African countries, namely Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria and Cape Verde.
In the countries he visited, the head of US diplomacy emphasized how the US is investing in infrastructure in Africa to boost bilateral trade and create jobs locally and on the continent.
Antony Blinken shared the US' desire to help Africa compete in the global market, and demonstrated how his country has accelerated partnership following the US-Africa Leaders' Summit in key areas, which include climate, food and health security. FMA/VC/TED/AMP
