Luanda – The Republic of Angola and the Kingdom of Spain discussed the strengthening of the bilateral cooperation in areas such as air transport, trade, industry, education, technical and scientific training and health, according to a press release sent to ANGOP in Luanda on Monday.
The discussion was held during a telephone conversation between the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, and her Spanish counterpart, Martinez Belio, who also talked about the identification of new cooperation areas with reciprocal advantages.
The two officials agreed to provide new impetus to relations between the two countries by holding a meeting of "Political Consultations", whose dates are to be scheduled through diplomatic channels.
Regarding the multilateral sector, they focused on the Great Lakes Region and the coups d'état that are taking place in some of the continent's cradle states.
Angola's role in the pacification of the Great Lakes region, in the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and in the southern zone were also discussed.
Angola and Spain have a good level of political and diplomatic cooperation, which has evolved over the years. VIC/MRA/DOJ
