Luanda - Angola and China may soon sign two international cooperation agreements, namely the Mutual Assistance Conventions on the Transfer of Persons Sentenced to Punishment and Security Measures Depriving Liberty.
The intention was expressed on Monday in Luanda during the audience granted by the Attorney General of the Republic, Hélder Fernando Pitta Gróz, to the Chinese ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bin.
At the time, Hélder Pitta Gróz expressed the need for permanent relations of cooperation between the two States and expressed his full willingness to support the authorities and the Chinese community living in Angola in matters of justice.
He pointed to the strengthening of cooperation and proximity as an effective means of resolving some disputes between Angolans and Chinese. In turn, the Chinese ambassador, Zhang Bin, expressed the need to expand cooperation relations between the two countries in the field of security and justice.
The diplomat thanked the country's authorities for their efforts in decreasing the crime rate and therefore called for greater protection of Chinese interests in Angola.
In response, the Attorney General of the Republic assured that the safety of citizens, both national and foreign, is one of the Angolan authorities' main concerns. ART/MRA/DOJ
