Luanda - Angola´s Foreign minister, Téte António, and Brazil’s minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro, met on Thursday, in Luanda, with the aim of discussing issues related to cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture.
The meeting also served as a way for the Brazilian government official to present the agenda of the visit he has been carrying out in Angola since Thursday, with a focus on strengthening cooperation between Angola and Brazil in farming, as well as to promote interaction between the private sectors of both countries and identify investment opportunities in Angola.
The Brazilian minister is in Angola to participate in the “Agribusiness Forum Angola-Brazil”, which is to take place on Friday, in Luanda.
The program for Carlos Fávaro's visit also includes meetings with Angolan agribusiness entrepreneurs, with the aim of increasing partnerships and promoting the sustainable development of the sector.
On this 72-hour working visit, he is accompanied by a delegation made up of the chairman of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), Jorge Viana, the chairman of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), Silvia Massruhá, in addition to senior officials from the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, as well as of the Foreign Ministry, and businesspeople from the Brazilian agricultural sector.
The Angola-Brazil Agribusiness Forum aims to promote the exchange of experiences, strengthen strategic partnerships and explore business opportunities between the two countries, connecting businesspeople, experts and leaders in the agricultural sector.
