Luanda – Angola and Armenia, on Friday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, expressed interest in strengthening bilateral and multilateral co-operation.
The issue was discussed during the work meeting that Angola´s ambassador to Ethiopia, Miguel Bembe had with his counterpart from Armenia, Sahak Sargsyan, ANGOP has learnt.
During the meeting the two ambassadors emphasized the need to strengthen political and diplomatic relations between the two countries, enabling the promotion of private investment, with comparative advantages, especially in the areas of trade, energy and the implementation of projects linked to Artificial Intelligence.
The Angolan diplomat took the opportunity to recall the excellent cooperation relation between the two countries, which will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their formal establishment on October 3 this year.
Miguel Bembe briefed the Armenia ambassador to Ethiopia on the main points of the recent holding of the 37th Ordinary Session of the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.
The diplomats highlighted Angola's geopolitical and geostrategic importance in the African continent, especially in the Southern and Central regions, as well as the role of Angolan Head of State João Lourenço.
Angola and Armenia established diplomatic relations on October 3, 1994.
