Luanda - Angola has bolstered sustainable development, equal treatment, stability, social peace and the guarantee of more justice, said Sunday in India, the presiding judge of the Supreme Court (TS) Joel Leonardo.
Speaking at the 24th International Conference of Chief Justice of the World, the judge said the actions currently underway in Angola are the basis for the creation of an International Anti-Corruption Court in favour of good governance.
Joel Leonardo said the project to create such a court requires the establishment of a new independent jurisdictional paradigm at the international level capable of responding to current challenges.
The judge added that the creation of an International Anti-Corruption Court requires a permanent dialogue between the world's judiciaries for a more comprehensive justice system at the service of the community.
The Justice Chief praised this initiative, taking into account that it forms part of the international judicial agenda, an essential issue for the progress and development of all the peoples of the world.
He said that the court's responsibilities due to the main mission related to peace and social stability, demands joint actions for the protection of essential values and the universal affirmation of human dignity.
Economic crimes
According to the judge, social inequalities resulting from phenomena linked to economic crime, especially corruption, have made it impossible to materialise the ideals of the United Nations Charter.
"Human life is a good that will always be protected anywhere in the world, whether in Asia or Africa, in Europe or America, the protection of the human person must be prioritised in judicial agendas", the judge explained.
He recalled that today's global economy is being assaulted by sophisticated criminal networks, through sequences of organised cross-border crimes, adding that economies are crushed in a flash, because in just less than five minutes, from anywhere in the world, organised groups can destabilise the economies of four or five countries simultaneously.
For these reasons, the judge defended the holding of more conferences of this kind and adjustments of the current United Nations system.
The conference taking place until Tuesday is running the motto "Uniting the world for children through enforceable global legislation and effective global governance". VIC/MRA/AMP
